Getting started
Ekonomiyi Yönet is a single-player economic strategy game inspired by the role of a central bank governor. Every month you make one monetary policy decision, bringing inflation down to its target path while protecting growth, jobs, market confidence and public approval. A mission can last 24 months or, in long-term and open-ended play, go on for years (Scenarios).
Requirements
- An iPhone with iOS 18 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 18 or later.
- No internet connection needed; the game works fully offline. Purchases, restoration, ads, features that unlock with an ad, and privacy and support pages need a connection.
- No game account is required. Free content is available alongside optional one-time packs; there are no subscriptions. Ads require your permission. Packs and purchases.
- 43 languages from version 1.0.2 (list); version 1.0.1 has 21 and version 1.0 is Turkish only.
Start your first mission
The first time you open the app, a short five-page How to Play (Nasıl oynanır) walkthrough appears. Continue (Devam) moves through the pages and Skip (Atla) goes to the main menu. It appears on its own only on the first launch; you can replay it from the game guide at any time.
- On the last page of the walkthrough tap Start (Başla), or tap Take Office (Başkanlığa başla) on the main menu.
- Choose an institution at the top: CBRT (Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, TCMB), Fed (Federal Reserve) or ECB (European Central Bank, AMB). Mission Briefing (Görev brifingi) on the institution card explains the starting conditions.
- Tap a scenario card. It shows the difficulty, starting inflation, interest rate, and reserves or the final target.
- Optionally change the Game Seed (Oyun tohumu); see Seed and sharing. A random seed is filled in for you.
- Tap Start Mission (Görevi başlat) at the bottom. The mission starts right away.
How to play
The monthly cycle
- Decide: set your tools on the decision desk and tap Apply Decision · Complete Month.
- Month end: the “How Your Decision Landed” (Kararın yankısı) screen shows the month's event, indicators before and after, and a short insight.
- Quarterly report: every three months official data is released. The newspaper-style report covers growth, unemployment, what drove inflation and your quarterly scorecard.
- Press conference: after each of the first seven quarters, journalists ask two questions. Your answers affect confidence and approval, and some create promises.
- End of mission: after month 24 (or if the mission ends early) your report card and mission summary open.
Decision tools
| Tool | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Policy rate | Your main tool. Shown as the policy rate for CBRT, the upper bound of the target range for the Fed, and the deposit facility rate for the ECB. Its effect builds over months. | All missions |
| Public message | Hawkish, neutral or dovish. A message consistent with your decision builds confidence; a contradictory one costs it. | All missions |
| Forward guidance | Signals the months ahead and creates a three-month promise. | Unlocks after the first quarter |
| Funding spread | Funds banks below the policy rate, easing without changing the announced rate. | CBRT missions, after the first quarter |
| FX purchases and sales | Intervene in the currency with reserves, within a gross budget for each quarter. | CBRT missions |
Helpers
- Committee Meeting (Kurul toplantısı): a hawkish advisor, the chief economist and a dovish advisor each suggest a rate. Tap a suggestion to apply it to your draft. Advisors only see published data and can be wrong.
- Effects in the Pipeline (Yoldaki etkiler): shows the impact of past decisions that has not reached the economy yet. Check it before reacting to a single month.
- Promise warning: if your draft would break an earlier promise, the decision bar warns you first.
Key concepts
- Target path
- Where inflation should be each month. It declines over time, and every card, chart and grade uses the same path.
- Real rate and lags
- The real rate is the interest rate minus expected inflation. Above its neutral level, demand cools. The effect spreads over about ten months; today's decision is felt most four to six months later.
- Expectations
- The market's inflation expectation twelve months ahead. Consistent decisions and kept promises anchor it to the target.
- Market confidence and public approval
- Confidence affects expectations and capital flows. If public approval collapses, the mission ends early.
- Promises
- Forward guidance and some press answers create promises. A kept promise builds confidence; a broken one costs about three times as much. The Office tab lists active promises and the time left.
- Reserves and financial buffer
- In CBRT missions, FX reserves are your intervention capacity. Fed and ECB missions use a “financial buffer” instead, a game indicator that does not represent the institutions' real reserves.
- Risk premium and financial stress
- The cost of borrowing. Called risk premium in CBRT missions and financial stress in Fed and ECB missions.
- Exchange rate and currency pressure
- In CBRT missions, the local currency against the dollar; in Fed and ECB missions, a pressure index starting at 100. A rise means the currency is weakening.
All of this is also explained in the game: … menu or the ? button on the main menu > Game Guide (Oyun rehberi). The How to Play (Nasıl oynanır) button at the top of the guide replays the first-launch walkthrough.
Scenarios
There are 13 missions across three institutions. All are inspired by historical conditions; starting values are sample game data and later events are fiction.
| Mission | Name | Difficulty | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|
| CBRT · 2001 | From Crisis to Confidence (Krizden güvene) | Hard | Floating currency, fragile banks, high inflation; lay the foundations of recovery with trust. |
| CBRT · 2018 | Currency Pressure (Kur baskısı) | Hard | Fragile external financing; prepare reserves and confidence before the storm. |
| CBRT · 2020 | Pandemic Balancing Act (Pandemi dengesi) | Volatile | Output stalls and credit needs rise; balance the pace of support against reserve pressure. |
| CBRT · 2021 | Rapid Recovery (Hızlı toparlanma) | Volatile | Demand is heating up; negative real rates may end in a currency attack. |
| CBRT · 2023 | Building Confidence (Güven inşası) | Hard | Deeply negative real rates and shrinking reserves; a fast, credible turn is needed. |
| CBRT · 2026 | New Equilibrium (Yeni denge) | Balanced | Disinflation that starts with high rates; choose when to ease. |
| Fed · 2008 | At the Edge of Zero (Sıfırın eşiğinde) | Hard | Rates near zero and a blocked credit channel; fight deflation and job losses together. |
| Fed · 2013 | Scaling Back Support (Desteği azaltırken) | Balanced | Slowing asset purchases is not raising rates; manage market expectations and the pace of exit. |
| Fed · 2022 | Fighting Inflation (Enflasyonla mücadele) | Hard | High price pressure, strong jobs; keep the dual mandate balanced while tightening. |
| Fed · 2024 | Soft Landing (Yumuşak iniş) | Balanced | Inflation easing, labour market cooling; choose the pace and timing of cuts. |
| ECB · 2012 | One Currency, Separate Risks (Ortak para, ayrı riskler) | Hard | Country risks split the effect of one policy rate; protect credit transmission and price stability together. |
| ECB · 2022 | Energy Squeeze (Enerji kıskacı) | Hard | Expensive energy, fragile growth; balance one rate across different borrowing conditions. |
| ECB · 2024 | On the Cusp of Cuts (İndirim eşiği) | Balanced | Disinflation progressing but wage and services pressure persists; ease carefully. |
Fed and ECB missions have a medium-term final target of 2%; FX intervention and the funding spread are not available there. The 2% in Fed 2008 is the game's reference, not presented as the officially announced target of that time.
Ways to play
| Mode | Length | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Mission (Klasik görev) | 24 months | The first release's eight scenarios, with the first release's rules. |
| Historical Mission (Tarihsel görev) | 24 months | The period's opening crisis and the tools available at the time; a handover review at the end. |
| Long Term (Uzun yönetim) | 60 or 120 months | Yearly report cards and successive crisis periods. |
| Open-Ended Term (Sınırsız yönetim) | No limit | A yearly report card and the risk of dismissal; after the first 12 months you can hand over the post. |
| Experiment Lab (Deney laboratuvarı) | 60 months, 120 months or no limit | No dismissal; change conditions and compare different paths. Not ranked in your career. |
In long-term, open-ended and experiment missions you can set up your own start: inflation, confidence, the credit cycle, banking stress, energy and external financing conditions. Custom starts do not count toward rankings or achievements. A new mission never deletes an earlier one; switch between saves under My Missions (Görevlerim) on the main menu.
Grades and early endings
How is the grade calculated?
At the end of every quarter a loss score is calculated from three parts: inflation's deviation from the target path, lost growth and jobs, and lost public approval. Lower is better. In a classic mission, the average quarterly loss at the end sets your grade. In historical and long missions the grade combines mission performance (80%) with a handover review (20%) that measures the policy burden left for the future; long missions also give you a report card every year.
Grades run from best to worst: AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, DC, DD, FF. The “Grade so far” (Şu ana kadar not) line in quarterly reports shows your trajectory. Missions that end early receive FF.
Why did my mission end early?
| Ending | When it happens |
|---|---|
| Reserve crisis / Financial buffer exhausted | FX reserves (CBRT) or the sample financial buffer (Fed, ECB) run out. |
| Dismissed / Mission ended | Public approval runs out. |
| Market panic | The risk premium (or financial stress) hits its ceiling two months in a row. |
| Runaway inflation | Inflation exceeds twice its starting level (CBRT) or the game's safe band (Fed, ECB). |
| Recession spiral | The economy contracts sharply for three quarters in a row. |
If a month-end screen shows “The Mission Is Ending” (Görev sona eriyor), the mission finishes at that point and your report card opens.
Achievements
There are twelve achievements. Earned ones collect in Record > Career (Sicil > Kariyer), and new ones appear on the end-of-mission report card.
| Achievement | How to earn it |
|---|---|
| Reserve Guardian (Rezerv Bekçisi) | Finish a mission without selling any FX. |
| True to Your Word (Sözüne Sadık) | Keep at least three promises and break none. |
| Storm Captain (Fırtına Kaptanı) | Live through a scenario crisis and earn at least BB. |
| On the Target Path (Hedef Yolunda) | Keep inflation on or below the target path for four quarters in a row. |
| The Quiet Bank (Sessiz Banka) | Finish with a neutral message every month and at least CC. |
| Single Digits (Tek Hane) | Finish with single-digit inflation. |
| The People's Governor (Halkın Başkanı) | Finish with at least CC and public approval above 60. |
| Hawkish Resolve (Şahin Kararlılığı) | Raise rates by at least 5 points in one meeting and finish the mission. |
| Soft Landing (Yumuşak İniş) | Bring inflation to the target path without any contraction. |
| The Long Road (Uzun Yol) | Complete a mission to the end of its planned length. |
| Top Marks (Pekiyi) | Finish with an AA grade. |
| Four Eras (Dört Dönem) | Complete all four Türkiye scenarios. |
Game Center
From version 1.0.2, if you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the achievements you earn are also recorded in Game Center, and ones you earned before signing in are sent the first time you sign in. When you are signed in, a Game Center button appears under the Achievements heading in Record > Career (Sicil > Kariyer) and opens your Game Center achievements page. Signing in is optional; if you don't, the game works the same. Settings > Game Center and your profile settings decide whether other players can see your achievements. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Seed and sharing
The game seed is a number that fixes the order of events. The same scenario, seed and decisions always produce the same events and results, so you can compete with a friend under identical conditions or replay a mission with different choices.
- Enter a seed in the Game Seed (Oyun tohumu) field on the scenario screen (up to 20 digits). New Seed (Yeni tohum) picks a random one.
- The current mission's seed is shown at the top of Record > This Mission (Sicil > Bu görev).
- At the end of a mission, Share Your Report Card (Karneni paylaş) shares an image with the scenario, your grade, the ending, the inflation result and the seed. It contains no personal information.
Saves and progress
- Autosave: the game saves to your device after every decision, report and press answer. You never need to save manually. Only a decision draft you have not applied is not saved.
- Continue where you left off: after closing the app or returning to the main menu, Continue Mission takes you back to the same step.
- Mission saves: in version 1.0.1, each mission is saved separately and starting a new one keeps earlier saves. Switch between them under My Missions on the main menu. In version 1.0, starting a new mission replaces the current save; your career and achievements remain.
- No syncing between devices: progress is not synced through iCloud. Games on your iPhone and iPad are independent.
- Moving to a new device: if you restore your new device from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one, your progress usually comes along. If you set it up as new, the game starts fresh.
- Resetting your career: career and achievements can only be reset by deleting the app (see Deleting your data).
Offload App is not the same as Delete App. “Offload App” in Settings > General > iPhone Storage keeps your data, so you can continue after reinstalling. “Delete App” permanently removes all data.
Troubleshooting
The app does not open or quits unexpectedly
- Close the app by swiping it up in the app switcher, then open it again.
- Install the latest version from the App Store.
- Make sure your device runs iOS or iPadOS 18 or later: Settings > General > Software Update.
- Restart your device and make sure there is free storage.
- If it continues, write to us. Deleting and reinstalling the app may also help, but it erases all progress, so please ask us first.
“The previous save couldn't be read” (Önceki kayıt okunamadı)
The save file on your device could not be read. You can keep playing with a new scenario. If it happens repeatedly, write to us with your device model and iOS version.
“the save on this device couldn't be updated” (Cihaz kaydı güncellenemedi)
The game continues in this session, but recent steps could not be written to the device, usually because storage is full. Free up some space and restart the app.
“Couldn't open the save on this device” (Cihaz kaydı açılamadı)
The save store could not be opened, so the game continues without saving and progress is lost when you close the app. Restarting the device usually fixes it. If not, write to us.
“A save left over from the prototype version … was archived” (Prototip sürümünden kalan kayıt … arşivlendi)
A save from an early test version could not be opened with the new game engine and was archived. You can start a new mission; this message appears only once.
The decision desk says “Complete this month's results and reports first” (Önce bu ayın sonuçlarını ve raporlarını tamamla)
A month-end, quarterly report or press conference step is still open. Tap the house icon to return to the main menu, then tap Continue Mission; the remaining step opens. If needed, close and reopen the app; your save is kept.
A button does not respond or the screen seems stuck
Return to the main menu and tap Continue Mission, or close and reopen the app. The game saves at every step, so your progress is safe. If it happens again, write to us with the scenario, seed and month.
Haptics do not work, or I don't want them
Turn Haptic Feedback (Haptik geri bildirim) on or off in the in-game … menu. The system-wide setting is in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > System Haptics. Most iPad models have no haptic engine.
Text is too small or too large
The game follows your system text size: Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size. For larger sizes, use Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text.
Support, privacy or terms links do not open
These links open in a Safari view inside the app and need an internet connection. Screen Time restrictions on Safari or web content can block them. The addresses are ekonomiyi-yonet.vercel.app/en/privacy and ekonomiyi-yonet.vercel.app/en/support.
The Outlook tab has no charts
Charts start filling after your first monthly decision. Growth and unemployment are released at the end of the first quarter.
Accessibility
- VoiceOver: buttons, indicators and charts are described; charts carry a summary label.
- Dynamic Type: text follows the system size, including accessibility sizes. At large sizes, rows stack vertically.
- Reduce Motion: transition animations are turned off when this setting is on.
- Haptics: optional, and can be turned off in the game menu.
- Readability: the game uses a high-contrast dark theme, and information shown with colour is also given in text.
If you hit an accessibility barrier, please write to us. We prioritise these reports.
One-time packs, restoration and refunds
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Ekonomiyi Yönet is free to download. Existing free content remains available without buying a pack. Two optional packs are sold separately as one-time, non-consumable purchases. There are no subscriptions or automatic renewals. Pack availability depends on your app version and App Store region.
Governor's Pack
- Removes automatic interstitial ads.
- Unlocks decision and mission reviews without watching an ad.
- Includes the Midnight Board and Copper Desk themes for desk and newspaper colours, plus the Supporter appearance.
Take Back the Month and Second Chance still use voluntary rewarded ads. Governor's Pack does not include Crisis Atlas.
Crisis Atlas
Unlocks three fictional, 24-month missions: Harbor Line (CBRT setting), Deposit Confidence (Fed setting), and Long Winter (ECB setting). Each has original crises, press questions and objectives. It does not include Governor's Pack or automatic interstitial ad removal.
Buying and restoring
- Open Discover New Packs on the main menu, view the price and choose a pack. Apple's purchase screen displays the price and payment confirmation.
- Buying requires an internet connection and an Apple account, but no separate game account. A cancelled or pending payment does not unlock access before verification.
- After reinstalling or on another iPhone/iPad, use the same Apple account and tap Restore purchases in the store. Verified packs do not need to be bought again. Restoration does not transfer saved missions between devices.
Verified pack access can work offline using Apple's purchase record on the device. Purchases and restoration require a connection; access updates when a verified refund or revocation is received. If a pack is missing, check your Apple account and connection, then try restoring.
Refunds and support
Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides eligibility. Deleting the app does not cancel a purchase or issue a refund. If a problem persists, contact us with the pack name, app version and error message. Do not send passwords, card details or a full purchase receipt.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the internet to play?
No. The game works fully offline. You need the internet for purchases, restoration, privacy and support pages and, if you allow them, for ads; “Take Back the Month” and “Second Chance” also need a connection because they unlock with an ad. When you are online, the app sends a short signal with a pseudonymous ID (a random ID, never your name) so that we can count users.
Are the data and events real?
No. Ekonomiyi Yönet is an original, simplified game model. Scenarios are inspired by historical conditions, but starting values are sample data. The game is not a historical dataset or an economic forecast.
Does the game give investment or financial advice?
No. Nothing in the game, including results, advisor suggestions and commentary, is investment, financial or economic advice.
Is the game affiliated with the CBRT, the Federal Reserve or the European Central Bank?
No. Institution names are used only to describe the historical setting of the missions. The game is not an official product of these institutions and is not endorsed or sponsored by them.
Why doesn't my decision take effect right away?
As in a real economy, the effect of interest rates on demand arrives with a lag and spreads over about ten months. The Effects in the Pipeline (Yoldaki etkiler) card shows what has not arrived yet.
Why are forward guidance and the funding spread locked?
They unlock after the first quarter (month three). The funding spread exists only in CBRT missions.
Why is there no FX intervention in Fed and ECB missions?
In these missions policy works through rates and communication. A currency pressure index replaces the exchange rate, and a financial buffer replaces reserves.
Will I lose my mission if I go back to the main menu?
No. The game saves at every step. Continue Mission brings you back; if you left from a month-end or report screen, that screen reopens.
Can I play several missions at once?
In version 1.0.1, yes. Each mission is saved separately and starting a new one keeps earlier missions. Return to any save under My Missions on the main menu. Version 1.0 keeps one current mission; starting a new one replaces that save, while your career record stays.
Does my progress sync between iPhone and iPad?
No. Game data stays on the device you use and is not synced through iCloud.
Can I see the “How to play” walkthrough again?
Yes. Open the Game Guide (Oyun rehberi), from the … menu in the game or the ? button on the main menu, and tap How to Play (Nasıl oynanır) at the top. It appears on its own only on the first launch.
Which languages is the game available in?
From version 1.0.2, 43 languages: English (US, UK, Australia and Canada), Arabic, Bengali, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French (France and Canada), German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian (Bokmål), Odia, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese. Version 1.0.1 has 21 of them and version 1.0 is Turkish only.
The game uses your device language. To pick another one for this app only, open Settings > Apps > Run the Economy > Language; the option appears when more than one language is added under Settings > General > Language & Region. More languages are planned.
Is there a light mode?
No. The game always uses a dark theme so charts and newspaper pages stay readable.
Is Game Center required?
No. The game works fully without it, and your achievements are stored on your device. If you are signed in, your achievements are also recorded in Apple's Game Center service; you can turn this off under Settings > Game Center. We do not see or store any Game Center data.
What data do you collect?
We do not collect your name, email or game content. When you are online, the app sends a random pseudonymous ID, the device identifier (IDFV) and device and version details to RevenueCat so that we can count how many people play. If you allow ads, our ad partner Unity also receives device and usage details; there is no tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Are there ads in the game?
Only with your permission. “Take Back the Month” (Ayı geri al) and “Second Chance” (İkinci şans) unlock with a short rewarded ad. If you have allowed ads, an interstitial may also appear at the end of a mission and, in long missions, at most once per game year. Governor's Pack removes automatic interstitials; undo and second chance still use voluntary rewarded ads. Ads are never personalized. Change your choice under Ad Permission (Reklam izni) in the game menu, and report an inappropriate ad with Report an Inappropriate Ad (Uygunsuz reklamı bildir). Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Report a bug or share an idea
Found a bug or have an idea? Write to ykiremitci10@gmail.com. These details help us fix things quickly:
- your device model and iOS/iPadOS version (Settings > General > About),
- the app version (in “Version History” on the App Store page),
- the scenario and game seed (Record > This Mission, Sicil > Bu görev),
- the month or screen where it happened,
- a short description of what you did and what you expected,
- a screenshot or screen recording, if you have one.
Because the same seed and decisions produce the same result, the seed and month often let us reproduce a bug exactly. If you enjoy the game, a rating or review on the App Store helps a lot too.
